Over ten thousand cupcakes were air shipped with the utmost care, boxed and kept cool with dry-ice for the long air trip to the warfronts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Transported aboard the Chairman's plane into the theater, then aboard a C-17 on this pallet, these cupcakes arrived in perfect condition.
Upon arrival, weather prevented the group from visited one Forward Operating Base (FOB), but allowed their visit to the 86th Combat Support Hospital, visit with command personnel and then set up for the evening show at the Camp Liberty Stage before a crowd estimated over 1,200 troops.

Following its sweet success in season one, TLC is serving up another back to back  twelve episodes of DC CUPCAKES, the hit series following sisters and business partners Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis and the colorful crew at Georgetown Cupcake. Batter will splatter and icing will fly as each half-hour goes behind-the-scenes to capture the trials and tribulations of running a bustling family business. DC CUPCAKES will air Fridays at 10 PM (ET/PT) with back-to-back episodes beginning February 25.
This season promises more delicious drama. Armed with their grandmother's recipes and "Mommy" by their side, Sophie and Katherine rise to every challenge including baking 10,000 cupcakes to be shipped to Afghanistan for our troops, creating a giant pink bra out of cupcakes for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, catering a cupcake birthday party for two gorillas at the zoo and making a couture wedding dress out of cupcakes for DC Fashion Week.
DC CUPCAKES will air Fridays at 10 PM (ET/PT) with back-to-back episodes beginning February 25.

The iconic Diana Ross visited Oprah today to talk about her long legendary career and even reunited with former co-star Billy Dee Williams! Ross and Williams were regular co-stars during the 1970's and appeared together in 1972's Lady Sings the Blues and 1975's Mohogany.
Despite the excitement, Oprah admitted she was a little worried about bringing Williams out with first telling Ross.
"I take full responsibility because my staff said to me, 'Di -- Miss Ross -- she does not want any surprises,'" Oprah said. Luckily, it turned out well.
Ross' all five children also appeared on the show.
“Being a parent is very important to me,” Ross told Oprah, referring to her children Rhonda, Tracee, Chudney, Ross and Evan.
“Somehow, despite how large her career and her persona [have] been, she has helped us not feel in her shadow,” Ross' oldest daughter Rhonda also said. “We can be ourselves. She somehow helped us to have that.”
“There was a sense of routine and normalcy,” daughter Tracee added.
Ross rounded out her appearance by giving a tearjerking performance of Ain't No Mountain High Enough. It was all enough to make Oprah emotional.
“I have to really keep myself from going into the ugly cry,” Oprah said. “Because of how much this legend, this woman means to me and my life. … I’m going to try to keep it together.”
But while Oprah's syndicated show is coming to an end, that doesn't mean Ross' career is doing the same.
“I think that if my voice for some reason changes -- because your voice does change -- then it’s time for me not to sing.”
